Baker Built was engaged by private homeowners to design and construct a custom single-level, four-bedroom home on a sloping coastal block in Kincumber, with expansive water views. The brief focused on future-proof home design, incorporating the potential to convert the lower level into a full two-storey residence as the family’s needs evolve.

This unique build was constructed over an existing slab, reinvented as a stunning four-bedroom family home. Featuring a dramatic skillion roof, recycled brick feature walls, and expansive light-filled interiors, the layout was carefully designed for both open living and individual space. Every detail — from the black aluminium framing to the sharp ceiling lines — adds architectural impact without compromising function or warmth.

Set on a sloping acreage in Holgate, this project required a full reconstruction of the property’s entry and driveway.

The new concrete access road winds through native bushland, supported by large-format sandstone retaining walls and finished with functional drainage stone. A custom-built timber bridge spans the creek, connecting the upper and lower zones of the site, while new post-and-rail fencing was installed for safety and boundary definition.

This renovation at Green Point focused on transforming key interior and exterior spaces to better suit the needs of modern family life.

The scope included an upgraded kitchen with clean lines and soft contrast cabinetry, a feature fireplace wall with custom cladding, and new internal details like a timber sliding door and light-toned flooring throughout. Outside, landscaping and a fresh façade update elevate the home’s street appeal while enhancing the lush, semi-rural surrounds.

From the precision excavation and structural groundwork, through to the construction of the pool house, entertainment area and landscaping – every detail was considered. The curved retaining walls, glass fencing and flowing walkways tie together multiple levels and zones seamlessly.

Tucked away on a tranquil waterfront block, this project saw the construction of two mirror-image homes, each boasting three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Clean lines, high ceilings and generous glazing flood both homes with natural light, while the floating timber staircases and matte black framed windows add an architectural edge.

The scope of works included major structural changes — from removing the original roof and internal load-bearing walls, to re-pitching the beachside roofline for elevated views and architectural impact. A three-storey residential lift was seamlessly integrated into the new design, offering accessible living without compromising on style.
