Lemon Tree Passage Foreshore
Delivered by Baker Built for Port Stephens Council, this foreshore upgrade created a safer, more accessible public precinct with durable awnings, concrete landscaping, seating, gardens and park furniture designed for long-term coastal use.

Foreshore Awnings & Concrete Landscaping at Lemon Tree Passage
Baker Built delivered a public realm upgrade along the Lemon Tree Passage foreshore for Port Stephens Council, creating a more inclusive, durable and usable outdoor precinct for locals and visitors.
The works included new awnings, seating, garden areas, bike racks, park furniture, concrete pavements and ancillary infrastructure. The project required careful removal of existing walkways, shop entrances and vegetation, along with excavation, pavement construction, handling and disposal of contaminated materials, and reinstatement works within a sensitive coastal environment.
With the foreshore remaining a public and environmentally sensitive area, Baker Built managed the works with a focus on safe access, low disruption, stormwater protection and long-lasting materials suited to the coastal setting.

About The Project
Public Foreshore Upgrade at Lemon Tree Passage
Baker Built was engaged by Port Stephens Council to deliver a foreshore precinct upgrade at Lemon Tree Passage, with the goal of creating a more inviting, accessible and low-maintenance outdoor space for the community.
The project combined civil works, concrete landscaping and public realm construction, including new concrete pavements, awnings, integrated seating, bike racks, gardens and park furniture. Materials were selected for durability in a coastal environment, including natural timber-look aluminium, stainless steel fixtures and off-form concrete seating.
The scope also involved removing existing walkways, shop entrances and vegetation, excavating unsuitable material, investigating and managing contaminated materials, importing, placing and compacting pavement materials, and delivering ancillary infrastructure connected to the surrounding boulevard and parkland.
Because the works were completed beside the Port Stephens coastline, environmental management was a key focus. Baker Built carefully managed construction activities around the public, nearby waterways and stormwater infrastructure, using controlled staging and environmental procedures to protect the foreshore while delivering a functional community space.
