Baker Built was engaged by the NSW Department of Education to deliver extensive site upgrades at Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College, Tumbi Umbi campus. The project involved the demolition of existing infrastructure and the construction of a new retaining wall, carpark, concrete pavements, and landscaped areas — all designed to improve site safety, access, and usability.
Environmental protection was a key consideration throughout the build, with protected tree species located within the construction zone. Our team implemented strict environmental controls and carefully contoured the final landscaping to complement the surrounding natural environment.
The completed works have significantly enhanced the functionality and presentation of the site, delivering safer circulation for vehicles and pedestrians, improved drainage, and a polished new outdoor layout tailored for school operations.

About The Project
Retaining Wall & Infrastructure Upgrade at Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College
Baker Built was contracted to replace failing infrastructure at the Tumbi Umbi campus of Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College. The works included the demolition of deteriorating retaining structures and the construction of a new carpark, pedestrian access paths, and surrounding landscaping. With the site situated near protected vegetation, our team worked carefully to preserve existing trees and implement erosion controls. The upgrade has delivered a safer, more functional environment for both students and staff, improving access and modernising the campus’ outdoor infrastructure.
